Wall Paintings

This week we feature two Do-It-Yourself canvas paintings. Some of the materials used for this project include 2- 16 x 22 inch stretched canvas portraits, acrylic paint, masking tape, stencils. We have featured these type of canvas paintings in past blog posts but this is the first time creating one for the home sewing studio.

Until next time ….. create your style.

Wide Leg Wonderland!

FullSizeRender_2    FullSizeRender_3

It’s been a while since we have featured a #DIY Outfit-of-the-day. Today we feature a blue cotton pair of pleated wide leg pants. We used Simplicity 1069 commercial pattern to complete this project. We created a size 12 and added a side snap closure. These are a favorite item. They are extremely comfortable. We choose two different looks for the wide leg pant of the day. Look #1 features a sparkle gold sweater with brown tank underneath. Look #2 features a  Rue 21 native american designed peach-red cotton crop tank front with multi-color sheer longer back.

We love to design, create and show off our do-it-yourself projects. What types of projects are you creating these days?

Create you style…until next time.

This week we creatively completed projects using simple art supplies. We have included the instructions to assist you developing your own work of art.

Materials needed:
Stretched artists canvases size 8″ x 10″ Several colors of acrylic paint
Painters or masking tape

It’s very easy to create these portraits. You may purchase these items from your local craft store or big-box retailer in the Arts and Crafts Department.

Imagine a design of choice. Use the painters/masking tape to map the design on the canvas. Once tape is placed on the canvas, paint the nontaped parts of the canvas using acrylic paint. When the masterpiece dries (could take an hour or two) remove the tape… and Voila a perfect painting!

This is a simple idea for any empty wall or side table decoration.

Hope you enjoy.

Until next time ….. create your style.

No-Sew Bows

We developed lots of no-sew bows a few weeks ago. The teenage participants choose a variety of colors and fabrics to complete this project. The mini session had females and males participating.  We located a tutorial on in order to create these items.

Do you like these creations? What have you been working on lately?

Until next time…..create your style!
