Finally back in action! I created Simplicity 8084-the Mimi G style shirt dress that cinches at the waist. I love the printed fabric that she used but I decided to go with a solid polyester woven mustard yellow fabric. I found this fabric on sale at a local fabric store. I feel the majority of the fabrics that I buy have to be on sale, otherwise I feel like I’m not working hard enough. By the way, yellow is one of my favorite colors.
This pattern was easy, however, the lapped buttonhole placket could have been confusing if I had not completed it before. I used size 14 pattern style A. I’m starting to prefer a lot of long dresses these days ….. getting away from the mid-length dresses that I loved in the past. I found these cool suede heels and I’m looking forward to the future.
I wanted to end this post by writing a bit of encouragement. You may not know this but it is increasingly challenging for me to finish and display blog posts due to the elements of my life. However, everyone has a choice daily in how to spend the time given. Use your time wisely and try not to get distracted. I find that I am able to complete more when I get off the social media sites and hone in to my purpose in life. I hope this inspires you to go for your dreams.
I am currently working on a few shirts that I’ll be displaying soon so stay tuned. Until next time …. stay focused and create your style!
