This is a skill-building program to include basic sewing skills including threading machine, sewing, fabric basics, cutting and more. Students will create one or two projects including pillow, scrunchie or plushie. Feel free to bring 1 yard of fabric if desired. Once two session are complete New Beginners may join Beginner 2 classes and drop-in sessions.

This is a skill-enhancing program to include sewing machine, fabric basics, pattern instructions and more. Pre-requisite: New Beginner class set or threading machine independently and sewing straight lines. Students will create two or more projects including beanie hat, totebag and possible clothing. 2 yards of cotton fabric may be needed for clothing creation.

Kids Drop In Program

Participants have the option to take a 1 day sewing class for flexibility purposes. Classes are Mondays or Saturday mornings.

Program Highlights

• Focus on implementing basic sewing skills through clear, concise instruction.

• Designed to promote confidence with sewing machine. After a month’s time participant will operate machine independently.

• Free digital sewing resources. We offer over 100 beginner sewing online tutorials and tips.

• Led by instructors with over 20 years of sewing experience.

• In-class Sewing machines, sewing tools and some fabrics are included. Feel free to bring 1 yard of cotton fabric for first project.

•No prior experience required—just an open mind!

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

  • How to thread a sewing machine

  • Practice Stitching straight, curved and square lines

  • Basic Troubleshooting with sewing machine

  • Complete 3 simple projects

🔄 Makeup Class Policy: WSC deems emergencies on a case-by-case basis. Emergencies include related death in family, contracting a contagious illness or injury to Client or Client's family members. In this case rescheduling services is appropriate. Client must reach out to Creative Consultant in a timely manner (24 hours before seminar or workshop start time.)

Equipment

• Having a sewing machine at home is preferred

• Instructor available to assist with purchasing a standard-sized sewing machine

Additional Information

• Optional Homework assignments will be given, however, regular practice is essential for progress.

• Masks are not required but preferred.

• Arrive 5 minutes early to set up your sewing machine.

This is a monthly program with the option of discontinuing as needed. Each month a new technique will be discussed and created through a one-of-a-kind project
