Guided Sewing 101: In these class/classes students will bring commercial or indie patterns and instructor will guide students through the project. Participants may also choose one of the projects in Guided Instructor curriculum below. Guide means assisting with reading the pattern and helping with layout and additional sewing as needed. Instructor will NOT complete project for student!!
Student will bring all supplies and notions needed for class. Students may choose from a possible project (basic gathered skirt, pajama shorts or pants, halter top or dress) or bring their own. In this New Series participants will learn sewing fundamentals.
Create a 16 × 16 inch throw pillow while learning the basics of an invisible zipper.
Learn the basics of working with fusible and non-fusible interfacings. Participants will create a fabric storage box using materials provided.
Learn the basics of sewing with knit or stretch fabrics. Participants will create an upcycled tee out of old t-shirts.
All supplies included! Prerequisite: Be able to thread machine independently and sew a straight stitch.
OPEN STUDIO
In this 1-Day studio experience, bring your unfinished projects and use our sewing machines and tools for three-hours. No guidance will be given but lots of conversation and sewing will occur! Ages 15+
• 👥 Minimum of 2 Participants and Maximum Participants: 4 (or the workshop will be rescheduled)

• In-class Sewing machines, sewing tools and some fabrics are included. Feel free to bring your sewing machine.
Prerequisite: Ability to thread sewing machine independently. Ability to sew a straight line, curves and squares without assistance or Beginner Adult Sewing Workshop.

Sample Class Layout
Class 1: Pattern Layout and Instructions: Students will learn the basics of working with patterns as they complete class project. Students will discover tools and notions related to pattern layout. Student will work on sewing project.
Class 2: Casings. Students will learn the basics of working with casings and why they are utilized. Students will discover sewing tools and notions related to casings. Students will complete a sewing project with casings.
Class 3: Hems 101. Students will learn the basics of hems as they complete project in class #1. Students will discover sewing tools and notions related to hems. Students will complete a project in which a hem may be required a waist or bottom of garment.

• Conveniently held in Historic College Park, GA. Address provided upon registration
Equipment
Having a sewing machine at home is preferred, though a class set of machines are available. It is not necessary but is convenient. Instructor is available to assist with this process.
